You will need two pieces of fabric. Cut one 20″ x 52″ for the bag and one 2 1/2″ x 5″ for the handles.  I bought the blue with stripes fabric on sale at Wal-Mart for 75 cents.

Serge the raw edges of the big piece of fabric to keep them from raveling.

Fold the fabric as it shown on the pictures (fold the left down corner upwards and the right top corner downwards)

In the middle of a free fabric make a diagonal. Fold the fabric in half along the diagonal.

Stitch the side seams.
Boxing corners. Draw a line where it is 4″ from one side to the other. Then cut off the corner. Repeat for the other corner.

The corners will look like this when you turn the bag right side out.

Fold over  1/4″ and sew to create a hem out of the upper raw edges.

Fold the small piece of fabric in half with right sides together and sew the long edge. We got a tube. Flip the tube right side out.

Put the tube on one side of the handle (pull as far as possible).

Sew together opposite corners of the handle

Drag the tube over the seam.  Fold and sew the raw edges.
